Hello Aspirants, After the release of SBI Clerk 2018 notification every aspirant wants to know , What is the syllabus of SBI Clerk 2018. So we are providing Syllabus in details both for Prelims and Main Exam.

Before describing Syllabus of SBI Clerk 2018 let’s look at the Selection procedure and Exam pattern of SBI Clerk 2018.

Selection Procedure:

There will two exams

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Main Exam

Selection will be based solely on the marks of Main Examination. Preliminary Exam is of qualifying nature only. So even if you get 100 out 100 in prelims, it will not be counted for final selection.
Note that there will be no Interview for this post.

Examination Pattern:

Preliminary Exam: 

As you know in Prelims there will test of 3 sections/subject namely: English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. In the table below you can the see the marks, sectional time and no. of questions for each section.

  • This time there is sectional Timing in Prelims also.
  • No sectional cutoff in Prelims exam of SBI Clerk 2018.
  • There will be negative marking of 1/4 marks for each wrong answer.
  • It is of qualifying nature only.

Main Examination:

In the main Examination there will be test of 4 sections namely: General / Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude. In the table below you can see breakup of no. of questions, Marks and sectional time for each section/ subject.

  • No sectional cutoff in Main exam also and no minimum qualifying mark criteria.
  • There will be negative marking of 1/4 marks for each wrong answer.
  • The final merit will be according to your aggregate marks of all subjects.
  • The merit list will be drawn in descending order of aggregate marks. ( State wise and Category wise)

There will be a Language test before appointment. It is applicable to only those candidates who did not study Local language in 10th or 12th.

General Awareness / Current Affairs / Banking Awareness:

  • Current Affairs for Past 4 Months ( From the date of Main Exam)
  • Static GK ( Country-Capital, Currency, National Park etc. )
  • Banking and Financial Awareness (Including Economics)

Computer Aptitude:

  • Basic working of Computer ( Hardware and software )
  • Computer History and Terminologies
  • Coding Decoding ( Binary to decimal, Decimal to Binary conversion etc.)
  • Computer Network and I/o Devices
  • Database ( Basics )
  • MS-Office
